"Take Me Out to the Ball Game..."

Last Saturday the Braves played the Diamondbacks, so Kip and I thought it would be fun to go to the game.  That morning we got up packed a bag and headed for Phoenix.  Phoenix is about 2 and half hours north of us, not a bad drive.  Once we arrived in Phoenix, we went ahead and checked into our hotel.  Our hotel was only about two blocks from the stadium.  You could actually see it from our window.

We then went and grabbed a bit to eat, and then headed to the game.  We were all excited to go to the game.  Ansley would say she was going to see the big boys play "bayball".

I am not going to lie...although we stayed for the entire game, we did not get to see very much of it.  Both girls got tired.  Ansley kept wanting to go play in the kiddie area.  Which by the way she got kicked out of because she kept going up the slides the wrong way.  We walked around for majority of the game.  Once we finally set down, got Ansley something to eat, and feed Abby, we had a much better experience.

Cotton Candy, Funnel Cakes, Corn Dogs-YES the Carnival was in town!!

The middle of this past week, I was on my way to Wal-Mart and noticed that the carnival was in town.  They were beginning to set up the rides in a local park.  It brought back middle school memories from when I lived in a small town in southern Alabama, Jackson.  It was a big deal when the fair came to Jackson.  In some ways this town reminds me of Jackson, and I feel as if it was a big deal to these people that the fair was in town as well.  So...my mind begins to turn....How can I convince Kip that we should bring the girls Friday night? Well, to my surprise it did not take any convincing.  After Kip got finished with class on Friday we ate dinner, and went to the fair!!  Both Kip and I were unsure what Ansley would think about everything.  Did not know if she would love it, and want to ride things over and over, or if she would be scared to death and have to be held the whole time.  When we got there, we walked around for a little bit to show her everything, and then asked what she wanted to ride.  The first thing she wanted to do was the slide!!  That was my favorite when I would go to the fair.  To the top of the slide her and Daddy went, and down they came.  She LOVED it, and wanted to do it over and over again, and we did :)!!

After the slide she wanted to ride the train.  We were told that she had to ride by herself, we were too big for the ride.  My heart began to break.  Oh know! I thought, she is not going to get to ride any of these rides.  Little did I know she would have no, and when I say no, I mean NO problem riding them by herself.  I could not get over how big she looked and acted.  I was a little disappointed that she did not need me but proud in the same since.  She is growing up so very fast.

After the train she moved to, I am not sure what the ride was called, but it was a lot like a Merry-go-round, but with cars.  The cars did not move up and down though.  They just went in a circle.  They were actually faster than I thought.  Again, she loved it, and had no problem driving that "car".

We did ride the Merry-Go-Round too.  She still will not ride the horses though, just the bench.

This was Ansley first time to have had cotton candy.  I just knew she would love it. Well, I was wrong.  She did not like it.  She enjoyed playing with it between her fingers, and that was about it.

I promise Abby was there.  She feel asleep not long after we got there, and slept the whole time.

We enjoyed our time at the carnival!!

Let's Go Fly A Kite

Last Sunday was a beautiful day here in southern Arizona. We decided it would be a great day to go and fly the girl's kite, they got for Easter.  So after church, we came home packed a picnic lunch, grabbed a few beach towels, and of course the kite.  We went to a field and enjoyed our afternoon!!

Abby loved watching the kite, and of course Ansley!

Ansley loved flying the kite, however, I think her favorite part was letting the kite go and then watching Mommy or Daddy chase after it.  She got a big kick out of that, and Abby enjoyed watching as well.

He has risen indeed!!

"The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.  Come and see the place where he lay.'" Matt. 28:5-6

So thankful to serve a God that is ALIVE!!

This was my first Easter, which I can remember, to ever spend without some sort of extended family.  It was just Kip, I, and the girls this year.  Although we all missed being with family, we enjoyed our time together!  Here a few pictures from dying eggs and Easter Sunday.

                               We loved dying easter eggs!!

Happy Easter

Yesterday Kip and I took the girls to take some pictures in their Easter outfits. Thanks Mimi and Poppie for the outfits, we love them! This was our second attempt to getting some pictures. Our first attempt went wrong when we got to where we were going and discovered that Abby had pooped all over her outfit, yuck!!! The second attempt went much better although it was a challenge to get Ansley to sit still at all. We got some good ones though. I will share some of my favorites. Oh, by the way we went to one of the only places we knew of that had grass around here, and this is not even real grass. It is astroturf.

You know at this age EVERYTHING goes in your mouth!

I love this one, because it is so typical! :)
Of course, the basket goes on the head.  She loves wearing hats.

We could not keep her from doing flips in her dress.  At least it was astroturf, and we did not have to worry about grass stains.

A big thanks to Nona for the baskets and eggs!
